The Corvette With Character – A Reader’s Story | Flamboyance GT

Meet probably one of the most unique C8 Corvettes ever. This is an example belonging to Mr. Josh Sudder, an enthusiast based near Miami, for whom, Corvettes run in the blood. Growing up, his dad’s C4 Corvette, a beautiful purple example certainly did influence his tastes. After all, the car we all have had the pleasure of being driven in as a child holds a special place in all our hearts. He fondly recalls his graduation day when his dad allowed him to perform donuts with the Corvette at the parking lot. The story with Corvettes in the family go even further. His grandad used to own a C2 Stingray, in the exact same colour as his dad’s car. That deep purple with a maroon hue. It truly is an enchanting shade.

As for his Corvette, the C8, the first thing anyone would notice is its paintjob, or in this case, the wrap. Josh claims that the car originally came in a highlighter yellow shade. And now, it is like a rainbow! Blue, yellow and pink with the black framing. I told him how happy his car would make little children if he parked it next to a Kindergarten or a school. Because that’s what his car is all about. Fun, happiness, joy, colour, and life! Josh’s car is different and unique. It can bring a smile on anyone’s face. After all, what is the point of life if we all drove around in monochromatic colours, just to keep things subtle and elegant? Life requires flavour and some zest to it. And it is people like Josh that make it so!

Josh took his test drive in a 1998 Volkswagen Passat, and his first car was a 2009 Honda Civic. He says that one had its engine on its last legs, having done a total of nearly 450k miles and had a recorded 3 services on it! That one was swapped and the new engine with its massive turbo could give over 400 whp! From a 2 litre Honda engine. He credits his dad as having encouraged him to save up for his C8.

Josh says he bought the car on the day of its launch. He watched the official unveiling on the phone with his Grandma who was unfortunately diagnosed with Cancer at that time, but has since, thankfully recovered. After acquiring it, he has racked up over 20,000 miles in it. He has participated it in many events like the Goldrush Rally, the Snowball Rally, as well as volunteering to give rides to children affected by Cancer on a Cancer Awareness event too. This man deserves respect.

He says he loves his car so much. He says his Corvette is priceless to him. When I asked him about his future plans with the car, he emphasized the main one. To supercharge it.

Josh, power to you! Wish you many, many miles of happy motoring!
