Look at her eyes. One of the most expressive. Look at the smile on her face. One of the most welcoming.

Panamera. A legendary name. It’s from the Carrera Panamericana, a challenging and extremely demanding Mexican border-to-border race that could push any automobile beyond its limits. It was once called, the most dangerous racing event in the world.

Between 1988 to 1991, Porsche developed a new concept car. Codenamed, the 989, it was a high performance, 4 door Grand Tourer, built to complement the 928. While the 928 couldn’t achieve its goal of replacing the iconic 911, the 989’s development was halted following poor sales of the 928. But it wouldn’t be history forever. Only until 2009.

In 2009, the Porsche Panamera was unveiled. A full sized, luxurious GT car with the sporting credentials and pedigree of the Porsche badge.

They came with a new range of engines. A 3.0 and a 3.6L V6 engine and a 4.8L V8. There were many variations within. Some were normally aspirated, some were turbocharged, and there was even a Hybrid with a supercharged V6 engine.

But what I want to talk about is the styling. The Panamera has been infamously criticised like the Cayenne and the Macan. For the Panamera, I think this is unfair.

I feel this is a beautiful car. I once remember walking to school years and years ago, when a Panamera went past me. it felt like a piece of the sky had gone past. Like a cloud with its soft and smooth curves. A cloud that can potentially do 300 Kilometres an hour….

I have illustrated the side profile for a reason. The design is unique. It is not an estate or a wagon, it isn’t really a hatchback in the traditional sense.

It is a shooting brake!

It is practical, has lots of space inside for a family and luggage. It is comfortable to drive long, long distances, itll be fun do do all those miles in, and as it’s a Porsche, it will be a high quality, extremely well built and reliable car. The feel will be unlike anything else, as Porsche is known for that.

If you want the sporting heritage of a 911, but also want practicality, space, more comfort and luxurious amenities, you can’t really go wrong with the Panamera. The smile on her face really is most welcoming!
